SCULTURA EX OPP-TRIESTE
“Il tuffo”:Design e realizzazione di una scultura in acciaio corten all’Ex O.P.P. di Trieste
Nel 2012 la provincia di Trieste organizza un concorso internazionale d’arte per cerlebrare l’attività di Franco e Franca Basaglia all’ex O.P.P. di Trieste. Il progetto proposto nasce da una lettura critica della legge 180 sostenendo che il suo successo dipenda in gran parte dal feedback della società. L’opera restituisce infatti il tuffo verso la città di una figura umana che fuoriesce da un reticolo che la tiene imprigionata. Il volo deve essere infatti sostenuto per non trasformarsi in tragedia. In quest’opera si cerca di dare una risposta estetica a questioni tecniche e compositive. La scelta strutturale infatti è tesa a far diventare la scultura stessa come una grande trave reticolare, ove struttura e forma finale non abbiano distinzione. Fortissima infine la relazione con il sito, che si manifesta nel rapporto che l’opera assume con la posizione dell’osservatore che ne restituisce un aspetto sempre cangiante.

Skull Lamp:Design of a corten steel sculpture
In 2012 the province of Trieste organizes an international art competition to celebrate the work of Franco and Franca Basaglia in the former asylum of Trieste. The proposed project arises from a critical reading of the law 180, claiming that its success largely depends on the society’s feedback. This opera displays a human figure that comes out of a cube that holds it imprisoned. The flight must be backed up so as not to turn into a tragedy. This work seeks to give an aesthetic response to technical and compositional issues. Hence the structural choice is intended to make the sculpture itself as a large reticulated beam, where the structure and the final form have no distinction. The relationship with the site is very strong and is reflected in the relationship that the work assumes with the viewer’s position. This choice gives consequently to the sculpture an ever-changing aspect.
